01 The 30-day window

You have 30 days from the date of purchase to request a full refund. No questions asked.

The clock starts at the time of payment confirmation, not at first launch. If you bought Tap Zap, sat on the email for two weeks, and only opened it on day 16, you still have 14 days left.

02 How to request

Email support@tapzap.app from the address you used to purchase. Include your order ID (in the receipt from DodoPayments) or the email address used at checkout — whichever is easier to find.

Refunds are processed within 5–7 business days. The funds appear on your statement based on your bank's processing time, which is usually a few days after that.

You don't need to explain why. "I'd like a refund" is a complete request.

03 What happens to your license

When a refund is processed, your license is automatically deactivated across all 3 seats. You don't have to do anything on your end.

Tap Zap will continue running until the next license check — typically within a few hours of the refund — and then return to the welcome / activation screen.

Your settings and preferences are not deleted. Slider position, hotkeys, PWM-Safe Mode, all of it stays on disk. If you ever buy again, they will still be there.

04 DodoPayments as merchant of record

DodoPayments handles billing and refunds for Tap Zap. They are the merchant of record — the entity your card actually pays.

Refunds appear on your statement as DODO PAYMENTS or DODOPAYMENTS.COM depending on your bank's formatting. If you don't recognize the original charge, that's likely the source.

Please email support before disputing through your bank. Chargebacks involve fees that hurt small developers more than refund requests do, and a refund is faster than a chargeback anyway.

05 Edge cases

  • Bought for the wrong platform. Refund and rebuy if you want, but you don't have to — a single Tap Zap license isn't OS-specific. The 3-seat license works on macOS or Windows interchangeably.
  • Bought twice by accident. Yes, refund the duplicate. Email support with both order IDs.
  • Used Tap Zap for 28 days and decided it's not for you. Yes, refund. The 30-day window is the window.
  • Past 30 days and unhappy. Email anyway. We can't promise anything but we'll talk.
  • Trying to refund a stolen card or fraudulent purchase. The refund goes to the original payment method, not to a new card. Contact your bank if the card was stolen — that's the right channel for fraud.

06 No partial refunds, no proration

Tap Zap is a one-time purchase. There's no subscription to cancel, no monthly billing to prorate.

The full purchase price is refunded — whatever you actually paid. If you bought during early-bird pricing at $28 and the regular price has gone up to $39 since, you get $28 back, not $39.

07 Beta builds and pre-release

The same 30-day guarantee applies to any pre-release or beta version of Tap Zap.

If you participated in early access at a discount, you're refunded what you paid. Beta status doesn't change the policy — it's the same window, the same process, the same no-questions-asked rule.
