# TAP ZAP Linux beta — Omarchy / Hyprland Application: **Omarchy 0.1.6 / x86_64**. Website package: **20260907-beta1**. The TAP ZAP control window, a top-bar tray icon, warmth, full red and software brightness, using Hyprland's native CTM interface. Read KNOWN-ISSUES.md first. ## Install 1. Extract the ZIP and open a terminal inside the extracted folder. 2. Run as your normal desktop user, without sudo: ```sh python3 install.py ``` 3. Open **TAP ZAP Omarchy** from the application launcher. It starts OFF on first use. Click its bolt in the Quickshell or Waybar tray to open the controls. The installer checks the package hashes and installs to your user account. It uses separate `TapZapOmarchy` preferences and a `tapzap-omarchy` launcher. Other TAP ZAP builds remain available. Launch at login is optional in Settings. Closing the window or pressing Escape hides the controls and keeps the filter running. Use **Quit** in the tray menu, press `q` in the window, or run: ```sh ~/.local/bin/tapzap-omarchy quit ``` For a first run, use one SDR display. Keep HDR, PWM-Safe, Extreme Dim and Launch at Login off. Check warmth, red, dimming, OFF and Quit before a longer session. If another color-filter application owns the CTM, turn it off or quit it yourself. TAP ZAP does not stop that application automatically. ## Requirements - 64-bit x86 Linux with glibc 2.38 or newer. - A Hyprland session with `hyprland-ctm-control-v1` v2 and `wl_output` v4. - XWayland for the control window; Quickshell, Waybar or another StatusNotifierItem host for the tray. - Cairo, FreeType, X11/Xext/XRandR, Wayland client, GLib/GIO and D-Bus libraries. - Python 3 for installation. No library binaries are bundled in this ZIP. This package uses Hyprland. Choose the separate X11, GNOME, Plasma or Sway download for those sessions. ## Commands and removal ```sh ~/.local/bin/tapzap-omarchy show ~/.local/bin/tapzap-omarchy toggle ~/.local/bin/tapzap-omarchy status python3 install.py --uninstall ``` The uninstall command removes this trial's launcher and owned desktop entries; it retains trial releases and preferences for rollback. To assign a shortcut, bind the `toggle` command in your own Omarchy configuration. For feedback, use FEEDBACK.md and the Give Feedback link on the Linux beta page. Font and Hyprland protocol notices are included in `payload/assets/`.
